Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will be the first smartphone in the world to have a 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL sensor.
On Tuesday, the news was posted on IceUniverse’s Twitter page. The leak did not provide any other details about the smartphone, except that it will be the unannounced Xiaomi Mi Mix 4.
Information leaked from a previously announced camera demonstration, where Xiaomi invited selected journalists and partners so that they could see the current implementation of the 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL sensor.
This sensor should appear on the market in the fourth quarter of this year and it is intended for mid-range smartphones. It is expected to appear on Xiaomi Redmi Note 8.
As for the 108-megapixel sensor, nothing is known about it except for the fact that it will probably use the same pixel merging process as the 64-megapixel sensor to create 27-megapixel images.
Mi Mix 4 will be the successor to the popular Mi Mix 3 from Xiaomi. Mi Mix 3 was one of Xiaomi’s most interesting smartphones, with a customizable retractable mechanism that allows you to slide the screen down to open the front camera.
This feature, as well as many upscale components and a very reasonable price tag of over 500 with a few dollars, have allowed Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 to become one of the best smartphones of the year.
