Galaxy A40s and A60 – low-cost Smartphones triple cameras
The new attractive line of Samsung Galaxy A is expanding – the company introduced the new Galaxy A40s and A60 smartphones in China.
Let’s start with the Galaxy A40s. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display Infinity-U with a resolution of Full HD and a cut in the form of a drop of water, which is located 16-megapixel selfie camera. On the back are a fingerprint scanner and a triple camera with a main 13-megapixel sensor, a 5-megapixel depth sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens.
Under the “hood” of the smartphone are a Samsung Exynos 7904 processor, 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory and a massive 5000 mAh battery. The smartphone supports fast charging at 15 watts, so you do not have to wait too long to charge a capacious battery.
Samsung Galaxy A60 is the first Samsung phone from the A series to come with a punch-hole display announced in 2019. And only for its punch-hole display, it looks more futuristic and attractive than its opponents in this comparison. Thanks to the in-display camera, its bezels are very narrow and there is no need for a notch. Further, this display makes the handset more compact than phones with similar display size. At the second place, there is the Samsung Galaxy A50 coming with a clean backside thanks to its in-display fingerprint reader. But it has a classic waterdrop notch, so nothing special on the front, even though its bezels are very minimal.
Let’s turn to the Galaxy A60 – the smartphone is equipped with a 6.3-inch Infinity-O LCD display with Full HD resolution and an eye for a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Like the Galaxy A40s, the Galaxy A60 is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and a triple back camera that offers a 32-megapixel primary sensor, an ultra wide 8-megapixel sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
The Galaxy A60 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset, which is also available in the Galaxy A70. It also offers 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal memory and a 4500 mAh battery. A high-capacity battery is charged using a 25-watt fast charge.
Finally, the Galaxy A40s and A60 use Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Samsung did not report when the Galaxy A40s and A60 will go on sale. However, the company revealed that the Galaxy A40s and A60 cost 1,499 yuan (~ $ 223) and 1,999 yuan ($ 298), respectively.
Specs & Software
Samsung Galaxy A60 is the handset that is mostly focused on the performances and the reason is simple: it is powered by a more powerful SoC. We are talking about the Snapdragon 675 which represent one of the most impressive midrange chipsets by Qualcomm. If we exclude the Snapdragon 800 series composed of flagship-class processors, only the Snapdragon 710, 712 and 730 can be considered at the same level of better than the Snapdragon 675. If we exclude the Samsung Galaxy A60, the best is definitely the Samsung Galaxy A50 with its Exynos 9610 chipset, while the Galaxy M30 is the less impressive one since it has a lower-end Exynos 7904 chipset and it is still based on Android Oreo.
Besides having the best performances, Samsung Galaxy A60 is also equipped with the best cameras, both on the front and on the rear side. On the backside, you can find a triple camera setup with a bright f/1.7 aperture, a 32 MP main sensor, an ultrawide lens and a depth sensor. You get a similar setup on the other phones, but with lower resolutions and less bright focal apertures. The second place goes to the Samsung Galaxy A50 which is still above-average in terms of photo quality.
Finally, a department for which the Samsung Galaxy M30 can be considered better: the battery life. Thanks to its huge 5000 mAh battery, it can go beyond two days of battery life, and it even has a fast charging technology. Right after, we got the Galaxy A50 with a 4000 mAh unit.
